Think You’re Not Ready to Launch Your Dream? Think Again

If you’re dreaming of starting a podcast, writing a book, or launching your business—but you keep wondering “Am I ready? Do I know enough yet?”—this one’s for you.

I’ve been there. In my digital nomad era, I spent years carrying a large Blue Yeti podcast microphone around the world in a carry-on suitcase, waiting for the mythical day I’d feel ready to launch my podcast. Meanwhile, ideas and impact were sitting on pause. Not to mention, the mic was crowding out quite a bit of suitcase space that I could’ve really benefited from for, ya know, clothes. 😂

So today I’m sharing the reframes that finally got me moving—so you can, too. ✨

Start Before You’re Ready—Because You Are!

Reframe #1: You Only Need to Be a Few Steps Ahead

You don’t have to be the world’s foremost expert to change someone’s life—you just need to be a few steps ahead of the person you’re called to help. Think about what you actually need when you’re learning: not Tony Robbins parachuting in, but a real human who’s recently walked the path, knows the potholes, and can show you the next three moves. Whether it’s business, interior design, fitness, or writing, there are people right now who’d love your approachable, accessible guidance. Let yourself serve them now; let the next teacher serve them later. Momentum beats perfection.

Reframe #2: Make Your “Flaws” Neutral—or Better

Whatever you’re labeling as a disqualifier (messy, non-linear, not a checklist girly, still learning) can become your magnet.

My friend and a successful business coach, Julia Wells, built a thriving brand by embracing a softer, anti-hustle approach—launching imperfectly, recording on walks, showing the real life between the highlight reels. Guess what? There’s a whole audience craving exactly that energy.

List the quirks you’ve been making yourself wrong for and ask, “How could this be neutral—or even an advantage—for my people?” Authenticity travels farther than polish.

Reframe #3: Find Where “Not Enough Yet” Came From

Many of us absorbed the idea that worth equals good grades, gold stars, or someone else’s approval. Maybe it came from family patterns, a teacher’s comments, or a relationship that made you second-guess your gifts. You don’t need a perfect source to heal the story—you just need to write a new one.

Journal: Where might I have learned I wasn’t ready? What else could be true now?

Then try on a belief that serves your next season: I am safe to be seen while I’m still learning. I’m qualified to help the people I can help today. My work gets better because I share it, not before I share it.

If you believed you were ready and enough today, what would you publish, launch, or offer this week? Do that. “How to know you’re ready” isn’t about collecting more certificates; it’s about collecting reps. Your audience doesn’t need perfection—they need your presence, your energy, and your willingness to show up now. 💛
