Is It Worth What’s On the Other Side?

You know those things you want to do—but for whatever reason, you just… don’t? You put them off. You scroll instead. You clean the fridge. You do literally anything else. We’ve all been there. And today I hope to offer you a fresh perspective—because one line truly shifted things for me in THOSE moments.

I was talking with my friend and women’s business coach, Kim Argetsinger, and we were swapping stories about the things we know would move us forward—but still resist doing. And she asked me this one simple question:

“Is it worth what’s on the other side?”

And something about that phrasing just clicked. I mean, try it out…

Applied to Getting Visible

Take something simple—like posting on social media. I’ve had platforms I don’t love being on. But when I stopped and asked, Is it worth what’s on the other side?—the answer was yes.

Yes, it’s worth new connections.
Yes, it’s worth conversations with dream clients.
Yes, it’s worth building a community and being visible for the people who need my work.

And somehow, that made it easier. It didn’t feel like a chore—it felt like a CHOICE.

Applyied to Your Career

You can try this with almost anything.

Thinking about giving your two-weeks notice to start your business?
Scary—absolutely.
But… is it worth what’s on the other side?

The freedom. The fulfillment. The mornings you don’t dread anymore. The impact.

Sometimes it is. You’ll know. And when you do, it makes it easier to take that big scary step becuase it’s WORTH what’s on the other side.

Applied to Your Life

Or let’s talk about something like a walk at the end of the day.

There are nights when I feel done. I want to throw on sweats and watch TV. But when I ask myself, Is it worth what’s on the other side?—the answer is usually yes.

A walk gives me clarity. Grounding. Fresh air. Better sleep. So even though the resistance is still there, I can meet it gently—and still lace up my shoes.

Applied to Your Relationships

This works for relationships too. I’ve had friends swear off dating apps because they felt so disheartened. And I get it—truly. (I almost did the same RIGHT before I met my future-husband on one!) But with my girlfriends, we’d talk it through and ask:

Is it worth what’s on the other side?

Is that 10 minutes of setup or swiping… worth the possibility of the right person? The kind of love that changes your life? Maybe yes. Maybe no. But it’s an honest way to find out.

When the Answer Is No

Now here’s the twist—sometimes, your answer will be no.

And that’s okay. Sometimes the thing we’re resisting really isn’t worth it—not because the outcome isn’t worth it, but because the way we’re doing it doesn’t feel like us.

If it’s not worth it, ask this instead:
Is there a more ME way I can do this?

I’ve had to do this with sales in my business. I was taught a script-heavy, pushy style early on, and I hated it. My body hated it. I’d break out in rashes before calls. No joke.

Eventually I realized—it wasn’t the selling that felt off. It was the style.

So I asked myself, “What’s a more me way to do this?”

A little more warm. More human. More genuine. More playful.

When I began selling from that place, things FLOWED. I attracted the right people. I made more sales. I actually enjoyed it. Same destination. Completely different road.

So maybe that’s what you need, too.

Maybe the workout isn’t wrong—but the style is.
Maybe the dating isn’t wrong—but the app is.
Maybe the project isn’t wrong—but the timeline or tone is.

Ask yourself:

  • Is it worth what’s on the other side?
  • If not… is there a more YOU way to do it?

That’s how you move forward with less force and more flow. I hope this gives you something to sit with today. Something to soften around. Let it be a gentle gut check. Let it guide your next step.

And if something came to mind while reading—something you’ve been resisting—I’d love to hear. What’s one small thing you could do today that’s worth what’s on the other side?

Your dream is too important to keep putting off. You’ve got this. You’re worth what’s on the other side. 💛
