How to Reach Your Goals (the Easier Way)

We’re approaching the time of year for new year’s resolutions, lofty commitments, and massive life changes… but what if there was an easier way to actually make MORE progress toward your dreams and business goals? To find CONSISTENCY instead of feeling so all-or-nothing all the time? To find a way to reach your goals that brings you JOY instead of fighting something that isn’t fulfilling or fun to you?

How to Reach Your Goals in 2 Simple Steps

Step 1: Choose a Method You Enjoy

Let’s say that your goal is to grow your business. There are millions of ways you can do this. You could post on social media, host in-person events, or offer free discovery calls. For you personally, let’s say you really enjoy posting on Instagram as a way to engage with your audience and turn followers into buyers. Great, that’s your thing. Hang onto it until Step 2.

As another example, let’s say that your goal is to improve your health. Again, there are millions of ways you can do this. Maybe you’re not a fan of running, but you enjoy daily walks or dancing across your living room. Fantastic, those count. Pick your favorite for Step 2. 

Step 2: Be Consistent

The next step is to simply be consistent with your chosen format. 

Where things go awry is when you try and force a format that you don’t really enjoy, or when you jump between too many of them to ever see true progress.

If Instagram is your thing, post on Instagram every single damn day until you see traction. And then keep going. Become a student of Instagram—finding out what your followers like and respond to. Do more of that. But keep going, because results will inevitably come. And the more you enjoy doing it, the easier it will be to stay consistent.

If dancing is your thing, dance every single day right until your dream health. If you miss a day, get right back at it the next day. Sure, you can lose weight running at the gym, or weight lifting, or cutting out carbs… but if you don’t enjoy that, you won’t stick with it. What’s even the point? Just stick to the method you enjoy, keep going long enough to see results, and eventually you will.

Applying to Your Own Life

So my questions to you, dear reader are as follows:

  1. What’s one goal you want to focus on?
  2. What’s one way that you could reach that goal that you enjoy?
  3. At what frequency can you commit to being consistent with it until you see results?

People spend so much time and energy trying to force methods that aren’t in alignment for them. That don’t feel good. That don’t bring them joy. It’s no wonder they find these habits hard to stick to. From now on, simply choose a way of reaching your goal you enjoy, then do it again and again.
